The only thing certain in life is death.
Aren't I cheery today?
if you have grandkids and they don't have outfits that have some scull and cross bones on them.....then your kids might not be cool.

i've been thinking.
a lot of posts i read here say things about how the jws are all victims; how people feel so sorry for them; how people believe that the jws they know are really good people who are trapped in a lie.
then i read a lot of other posts about the cruel things the jws do, like shunning, ignoring df'd people on the side of the road with a flat tire, refusing to be charitable to their fellow humans, delighting at the impending deaths of millions of people, and blaming all of their coldness and heartlessness on the fact that they're just following orders from the gb.
Most groups of people like Nazis and Jehovah's Witnesses have a variety of types of people in it. Studies into obedience to authority have given some scary results.
because i didn't go out in service today the wife tells me i don't love our family.
she's only going because she has no time in this month.
so off she goes into the rain.
You may wish to gently let her know that you love her enough to respect her freedom to do what she believes is right, and that you hope the same is true of her regarding you.
Tough situation I can't imagine. Must be infuriating, Jimmy.
i'm curious as to how far everyone has explored their new found freedom having left the borg.. has anyone been interested in, or interested in becoming, or just vaguely interested in the following - the raelians (they do have good geometry), any ufo cult, rastafarianism, amish, trekkies, the john frum movement, the discordians, buddhists, hindu, scientologist or any other that isn't listed here?
.
.
Having found my way out of one cage I'm not about to walk into another, although I may consider Pastafarianism at some point.
I have just ordered a few books which are relevant, at least most of which were recommended on this forum:
The Path to Love: Spiritual Lessons for Creating the Love You Need
Deepak Chopra
There Is Nothing Wrong with You: Going Beyond Self-Hate, A Compassionate Process for Learning to Accept Yourself Exactly as You Are
Cheri Huber
Take Back Your Life: Recovering from Cults and Abusive Relationships
Janja Lalich
Wherever You Go, There You Are
Jon Kabat-Zinn
the following is a response to a jw friend who still occasionally tries to save my soul, or at least understand it.. his questions are in italics.. i have not yet sent this email.. ========================= what exactly is it that makes you disbelieve there's a god, or makes you unsure he exists?
i think a more sensical question is what makes you so sure he does?
when debating the existence of something invisible, the burden ofproof rests solidly on the shoulders of the believer.
Logical enough, and nicely written.
One mistake spotted:
The reasoning that such bloodlust was a foreshadowing of the day...
i've got the book, starting the scan now!!
will have it online in a bit.
i have a manual (not sheetfed) scanner, so it's a manual process.
Thanks for the preview TJ.
My first comment is on the layout. Utter shit! The Society's books were getting better, but this takes several steps back. Maybe the brother who did the page layout got DF'ed or something and they replaced him with someone's son who was a computer whizz and could "do DTP".
just a silly thought.. throughout our reading of the old test.
we are always pointing out that jeh likes to kill ppl when it suits him.
he killed someone just for trying to steady the ark.
Just leave it with Jehovah, brother.
i hope this works.
check it out.........it's so annoying.
i tried to post but it never appeared.
